Job Purpose

The Sustaining Engineer will review identification, investigate and resolve
deficiencies of commercially released products.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include one or more of the following:

  • Assesses overall product risk by facilitating the development of risk
    management tools such as the risk management report, failure mode and
    effects analyses (FMEAs), etc.
  • Actively participate in the product development cycle by reviewing the design
    documentation, participating in product risk assessments, and working
    closely with Product Development to develop appropriate verification and
    validation testing requirements.
  • Contributes to the successful completion of Process Validation initiatives by
    facilitating validation master plans and the qualification activities required to
    meet validation requirements.
  • Perform Gage R&R and correlation studies
  • Created workmanship standards
  • Monitor supplier performance and initiates corrective actions, as required.
    Develops part qualification plans and supports the production part approval
  • Develop, analyze and monitor metrics pertaining to system/product risk
    uncovered during development, testing, and post-release.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as an Engineer in the medical device
  • Knowledge and experience with SolidWorks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to
    organize prepare and present materials to customers, suppliers and/or
    company management at all levels.

Working Conditions

Works in an office environment sitting for long periods of time. While performing
the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Physical Requirements

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is
frequently required to stand; walk and sit.


Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
